2025 NAIDOC Local Grants Opportunity
The NAIDOC Local Grants are an important part of the Australian Government’s support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations to celebrate and promote National NAIDOC Week. Since 1975, National NAIDOC Week has been held each year, from the first Sunday in July. Every year, grassroots celebrations are held across Australia to recognise the histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities. The NAIDOC Local Grants provide a funding contribution towards the cost of local and regional NAIDOC activities and events. Non-Indigenous organisations are strongly encouraged to work with their local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in planning activities / events. In 2025, $3.0 million (GST exclusive) will be available for the NAIDOC Local Grants Opportunity. The maximum amount of funding is $25,000. Applications for NAIDOC grants are expected to open in January 2025. Potential applicants are encouraged to read the Forecast Opportunity to help plan their activity / event ready for when applications open. Further information will also be available at: Grants and Funding | National Indigenous Australians Agency (niaa.gov.au).
