Description:

Australia’s International Climate Step-Up Program (the program) will run from 2022-23 to 2028-29.

The program was announced as part of the Australian Government’s commitment to renew Australia’s international climate leadership, support global efforts to decarbonise, and secure the nation’s future as a renewable energy superpower.

Australia’s Climate Step-Up aims to restore Australia's reputation and increase international engagement on climate change and energy transformation issues.

Australia’s International Climate Step-Up – COP29 Climate Conference Travel Support Program grant opportunity is part of Australia’s International Climate Step-Up program.

The objective of this grant opportunity is to support the travel of individuals from underrepresented groups primarily First Nations Australians and youth (over the age of 18) to attend and contribute to Australia’s inclusive climate engagement at COP29, to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 11 to 22 November 2024.

Eligibility:

To be eligible you must:

  • have an Australian business number (ABN) 
  • be invited to apply by the Department of Industry Science and Resources

and be one of the following entities:

  • an entity, incorporated in Australia
  • individual/sole trader
  • an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation registered under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 (Cth)
  • a company limited by guarantee
  • an incorporated trustee on behalf of a trust an incorporated association
  • a co-operative
  • a partnership
  • an unincorporated association
  • an incorporated not for profit organisation 
  • a publicly funded research organisation (PFRO) as defined in section 14 of the grant opportunity guidelines
  • an Australian local government agency or body as defined in section 14 of the grant opportunity guidelines
  • an Australian state/territory Government agency or body.
Grant Activity Timeframe:

The maximum project period is 5 months.

You must complete your project 31 January 2025.

Total Amount Available (AUD):

$375,000.00

Estimated Grant Value (AUD):

From $10,000.00 to $15,000.00
