Indigenous Ranger Biosecurity Program - Ranger Capability Building Grants – Round 3
The Australian Government is inviting applications from Ranger organisations with current fee-for-service contracts with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department), via a restricted process, to apply for a grant under the Ranger Capability Building Program, Round 3.
For Round 3 of the Ranger Capability Building Grants, $2.2 million (GST exclusive) is available over the 2024–25 and 2025–26 financial years. Grant agreements will be up to 2 years in length.
The Indigenous Ranger Biosecurity Program helps protect Australia’s more than $80 billion agriculture industries by partnering with Indigenous Rangers to provide vital surveillance needed for the early detection of biosecurity threats across northern Australia.
In addition to protecting Australia at the biosecurity frontline, the Indigenous Ranger Biosecurity Program provides skills, employment pathways and economic opportunities on Country for First Nations people in remote and regional communities.
These grants support Rangers having the necessary training and equipment to undertake biosecurity surveillance activities for the department and potentially enable groups to expand the scope and complexity of activities they can undertake in the future, thereby potentially enabling groups to increase their biosecurity fee-for-service income.
The intended outcomes of the grant program are:
- Increased capacity of Indigenous Rangers to undertake current and future biosecurity fee-for-service activities for the department.
- Increased skills and capability of Indigenous Rangers to enhance their career pathways.
- Improved work health and safety of the work undertaken by Indigenous Rangers in remote areas.
To be eligible, you must be one of the listed invited organisations and have received an invitation to apply through GrantConnect.
By invitation only.
