Description:

The National Clinical Quality Registry Program (the National CQR Program) aims to improve the quality of health care and ensure better health outcomes for Australian patients. It is also designed to reflect the key priorities of the National Clinical Quality Registry and Virtual Strategy 2020-2030  (the Strategy).

The National CQR Program includes the establishment of a new grant opportunity dedicated to support existing national CQRs to undertake short-term, or ‘catalyst’ projects, that help build their capacity and capability in line with the Strategy.

The purpose of this grant opportunity is to support the expansion of existing national CQRs through the design and development of new data module/s. A list of eligible activities for designing and developing new modules is outlined at Section 5.1.

New data module/s may capture information on additional conditions, devices, treatments, therapies, or procedures that are relevant to the CQR, or Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMS) and/or Patient Reported Experience Measures (PREMs).

The purpose of the new module/s is to expand the existing CQR in a cost-effective way and that is complementary to the current CQR’s minimum dataset. To that end, new module/s should be designed to leverage existing registry infrastructure where possible, and not duplicate other registry activity within its clinical domain.

There should also be support for the new module among key stakeholders, and applications should outline the steps that will be taken to ensure sufficient resources are available for the continued development and/or pilot implementation of the module beyond the period of this grant opportunity.
