  • fund health system research to identify innovative approaches to treat and manage chronic and complex diseases
  • generate evidence to support the translation of new preventive and public health measures into practice
  • implement innovative approaches to improve the quality and cost effectiveness of preventive healthcare interventions

The objective of this grant opportunity is to provide grants financial assistance to support medical research and medical innovation projects that:

  • Stream 1 (Targeted Call for Research): develop treatable trait-based precision medicine approaches for chronic respiratory disease
  • Stream 2 (Targeted Call for Research): clinically validate scalable approaches to medication and therapeutic adherence and/or self-management of chronic respiratory diseases.

The intended outcome of the research is to improve the health and wellbeing of Australians by:

  • Stream 1: supporting implementation of new individualised approaches for improving chronic respiratory disease assessment, treatment, and outcomes
