Veteran Employment Program - Recruitment Advisory Service for Employers of Veterans
The Recruitment Advisory Service for Employers of Veterans grant program (the program), will run over 3 years from 2023-24 to 2025-26. The program was announced as part of the Veteran Employment Program in the Budget 2022-23 under the ‘Veterans’ Wellbeing Package’ (Budget Paper No. 2 2022-23 – Part 2: Veterans’ Wellbeing Package p.190).
The program contributes to the achievements of Program 1.4 Assistance and Other Compensation for Veterans and Dependents, which includes a range of other grants programs that provide support to veterans and their families such as the Enhanced Employment Support for Veterans and Supporting Veteran Owned Business programs.
The purpose of the program is to provide practical and long-lasting advice and support for employers with a view to facilitating increased veteran employment opportunities. It aims to deliver practical advisory and technical services to assist employers’ recruitment and retention strategies. In doing so, program support will reflect an understanding of different levels of military awareness across employers/employer groups, and the scope of internal resources available to employers (from small to large business size).
The DVA will work with a single provider to make improved assistance available to employers for pursuing and/or enhancing veteran employment to enhance targeted veteran recruitment and retention. It is intended that this will be achieved by working collaboratively with employers to develop, review, or enhance policies and/or procedures applicable to workplaces.
