Description:

The EESS Program will run for one-year (2024-25), with a one-year extension option for 2025-26. The EESS Program aims to reduce instances of avoidable blindness and deafness in First Nations people through expediting access to eye and/or ear surgery. 

The objectives of this grant opportunity are to: 

  • facilitate timely access to culturally appropriate, affordable eye and ear hospital procedures at the nearest available location to the patient’s home;
  • strengthen patient pathways and support, including liaison between health clinics, specialists and hospitals; and
  • prioritise First Nations patients living in rural and remote Australia.

The list of eligible applicants was determined on the basis that they are the organisations currently funded to deliver the EESS, and have proven to have:

  • capability to deliver the grant activities;
  • existing infrastructure and relationships to support the grant activities;
  • experience and capability to deliver the grant objectives and outcomes and
  • demonstrated value for money in delivering outcomes in the current market.

 

Total Amount Available (AUD):

$4,496,000.00
