Description:

The purpose of this grant opportunity is to support the extension of the Ovarian Cancer TRACKFORWARD Project that commenced in 2022 and aims to help investigators at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre monitor the emergence of BRCA reversions in ovarian cancer patients identified to carry a BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation to understand their impact on subsequent treatment.

This grant will provide funding to allow an extension of the project for an additional 18 months.

Ovarian Cancer Australia (OCA) are the only organisation who have the expertise, knowledge, and experience to continue delivering this program.

Ovarian Cancer Australia is the peak national non-government body for ovarian cancer in Australia, with experience in the provision of support for women with ovarian cancer. These include the provision of its Support and Information Helpline, as well as telehealth and face-to-face support groups, an online forum, and information resources.

OCA is invited to apply for this grant opportunity as they have been assessed to have the:

· capability to deliver the project activities in the project location.

· existing infrastructure and relationships to support the project activities; and 

· knowledge of and capability to deliver to the project objectives and outcomes.

OCA has a recognised reputation in supporting women and their families in this area and already built networks in the community that will be leveraged during this extension project. OCA has met all milestones and deliverables under their current grant agreement. Further OCA can utilise existing research findings previously conducted, adding to the value for money.

OCA have collaborated with doctors and scientists at the Peter MacCallum Centre (PMCC) on the Ovarian Cancer TRACKFORWARD project since late-2022 and have been delivering it to a high standard.  OCA has the infrastructure and the vital networks and partnerships to continue delivering this program.
