Description:

The objectives of the grant opportunity are:

  • to support Crime Stoppers Australia in performing the organisation’s core function, aiding the anonymous reporting by the public of sensitive crime-related information at a national level to enable safe and secure Australian communities
  • to support and coordinate programs in all states and territories including supporting Crime Stoppers Australia’s function of enabling crime reporting at the state and territory level, and undertaking activities across the states and territories to raise awareness of the Crime Stoppers function to combat criminal activity.

The objectives of the grant will be achieved by:

  • supporting the operation of Crime Stoppers Australia’s anonymous reporting of crime-related information from 2024-25 to 2026-27
  • facilitating the implementation of one annual national initiative by Crime Stoppers Australia for each financial year from 2024-25 to 2026-27, to be agreed to by the Commonwealth
  • facilitating the implementation of an annual initiative by each state and territory crime stoppers program for each financial year from 2024-25 to 2026-27, to be agreed to by the Commonwealth
  • enhancing cooperation between Crime Stoppers Australia and all eight state and territory Crime Stoppers programs and state and territory police
  • encouraging members of the community to assist law enforcement to investigate and combat criminal activity and to facilitate members of the community to make anonymous reporting of crime-related information.

The intended outcomes of the grant opportunity are:

  • to expand a community led-approach to reducing criminal behaviour and encouraging members of the community to assist law enforcement in all states and territories
  • to educate the community and put in place strategies to deter crime from occurring.
Eligibility:

You can apply if you are:

  • Crime Stoppers Australia (ABN: 98 085 860 206).

You can’t apply if you are:

  • any organisation that is not Crime Stoppers Australia (ABN: 98 085 860 206)
  • an organisation, or your project partner is an organisation, included on the National Redress Scheme’s website on the list of ‘Institutions that have not joined or signified their intent to join the Scheme’
  • an employer of 100 or more employees that has not complied with the Workplace Gender Equality Act (2012).
Grant Activity Timeframe:

The project period will be a maximum of 3 years. You cannot start your project before 1 August 2024. You must complete your project by 31 March 2027.

$2,676,000.00
