Support and connection for parents and carers of young children with disability or developmental concerns
The Australian Government is inviting applications via an open competitive process to apply to deliver services under the National Early Childhood Program for Children with Disability or Developmental Concerns (NECP) – ‘Support and connection for parents and carers of young children with disability or developmental concerns’ grant opportunity from December 2022 to June 2025. One provider or consortia will be preferred to deliver this grant opportunity, with face-to-face sessions delivered in all states and territories.
The grant opportunity will provide facilitated group information sessions, workshops or interactive sessions in all states and territories for parents and carers of young children aged 0 to 8 years with a newly identified disability or who have concerns regarding their child’s development. These information or interactive sessions should provide opportunities for families early in their journey to learn from, and connect with:
- evidence-based information
- family-focused strategies
- peers with similar experiences.
These sessions should be flexible in content to meet participant needs in the community and may focus broadly on any disability or developmental concern, and some may be tailored to address specific disabilities such as autism.
This grant opportunity will connect with the grant opportunity “Support and connection for young children with disability and developmental concerns”, with applications for both grant rounds open now.
