Description:

The purpose of the grant is to provide lump sum financial assistance to limit the financial hardship of eligible individuals who are, or were, unable to earn an income having been required to self-isolate or quarantine, or are caring, or cared, for a person required to remain in isolation as a quarantine measure as a result of the coronavirus known as COVID-19.

Eligibility:

In accordance with the eligibility criteria outlined in the Program Guidelines.

Instructions for Application Submission:

Revised guidelines published on 18 January 2022 apply for claims for isolation periods from 18 January 2022 onwards.

For claims for isolation periods prior to this date, earlier guidelines and eligibility criteria apply. For these periods, please see earlier guidelines published as documents/addenda to this Grant Opportunity.

Other Instructions:

A claim will be assessed by Services Australia against the eligibility criteria before making payment and claimants will be notified by letter if their claim has been granted or rejected.

Where requested, a claimant may also need to provide evidence of meeting the eligibility criteria for the payment.

Services Australia makes every effort to process claims as quickly as possible. Depending on individual circumstances, payments can be released in real time to the claimant’s Australian bank account.
