Protection and restoration of land and sea Country in the Great Barrier Reef by Traditional Owners
The grant opportunity provides funding to further implement the Traditional Owner designed and led Reef 2050 Traditional Owner Implementation Plan (2022) and seeks to support Traditional Owners as they continue work to care for and protect Country, honouring those who have come before.
The objective of the grant opportunity is to support the delivery of actions to implement the Traditional Owner Implementation Plan.
The intended outcome of the grant opportunity is continued Traditional Owner-led implementation of the Traditional Owner Implementation Plan.
The Pollination Foundation Limited (ABN: 29 633 992 604) has been identified as the appropriate recipient because:
- it has demonstrated the ability to support the Taskforce including the associated legal and financial responsibilities associated with hosting the Taskforce
- it has demonstrated ability to provide a culturally safe environment to support the hosting of the Taskforce and enables Traditional Owner leadership
- it has the necessary experience and expertise to support the Taskforce to undertake grant activities efficiently and effectively.
Projects must be completed by 31 March 2028.
