Connected Beginnings Expansion
This grant opportunity will provide funding to expand the health component of the Connected Beginnings Program to 36-38 new sites from 2021-22 to 2024-25.
The department works collaboratively with the Department of Education to deliver the Connected Beginnings Program. The program focusses on integrating early childhood, maternal and child health, and family support services in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia to optimise children’s health, development and readiness for school.
The objectives of the grant opportunity are:
• to support the integration of early childhood, child and family health, and family support services in a number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities so that children are healthy and developmentally ready for school.
The intended outcomes of the grant opportunity are:
• improved early childhood health outcomes and the achievement of developmental milestones by children in the funded communities so they are healthy, ready to start school, able to learn and thrive.

To be eligible to receive funding through this grant opportunity, you must be an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service or Aboriginal Medical Service providing primary health care services in a community where the Connected Beginnings Program is currently being delivered or in the process of being established. Eligible organisations will be identified and approached by the Department for consideration to receive funding.
