Social Cohesion Measures - Australian Palestinian, Muslim and Arab Communities (APMAC) Support Projects
The Australian Government is inviting applications in an open process to deliver services under the Social Cohesion Measures - Australian Palestinian, Muslim and other Communities (APMAC) Support Projects from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026.
The objectives of the grant opportunity are to:
- foster the integration of Palestinian, Muslim and Arab communities.
- reduce community isolation within Australia.
- reduce instances of discrimination and racism.
- develop tolerance and respect for different cultures and religions.
- foster community wellbeing and social inclusion and cohesion.
- improve the safety of Australian communities that may experience threats due to the Hamas Israel conflict.
- enable communities to undertake activities safely and free from harassment.
- deter crime by improving security infrastructure at community organisation facilities.
- contribute to greater community resilience and wellbeing.
The intended outcomes of the grant opportunity are:
- increased integration outcomes for Palestinian, Muslim and Arab communities.
- reduced instances of discrimination, racism, crime or violence in communities affected by the Hamas-Israel conflict.
- increased rates of social connections by Australian Palestinian, Muslim and Arab communities with the broader Australian community.
- increased sense of safety and belonging in Australia for Australian Palestinian, Muslim and Arab communities.
The APMAC grant opportunity will prioritise supporting:
- Australian Palestinian-led organisations or organisations representing Palestinian Australians.
- community organisations who are already working directly with Palestinian, Muslim and Arab communities who have been impacted by the Hamas-Israel conflict.
To be eligible, you must be one of the following entity types:
- Company
- Cooperative
- Corporate State or Territory Entity
- Incorporated Association
- Indigenous Corporation
- Non-corporate State or Territory Entity
- Non-corporate State or Territory Statutory Authority
- Statutory entity.
If you are applying as a Trustee on behalf of a Trust , the Trustee must be one of the eligible entity types as listed above.
Assessment of applications - by November 2024
Approval of outcomes of selection process - by January 2025
Notification to applicants - by January 2025
Negotiations and award of grant agreements - by March 2025
Earliest start date of grant activity - 17 March 2025
End date of grant activity - 31 March 2026.
