Drug and Alcohol Program - Withdrawal Management and Rehabilitation Treatment Services
This grant opportunity aims to increase access to evidence-based drug and alcohol treatment services and reduce the impact of substance use on individuals, families and the community by funding drug and alcohol withdrawal management and rehabilitation treatment services across Australia.
Withdrawal management supports people to stop or reduce methamphetamine, alcohol and other drug use. Rehabilitation (residential and non-residential) aims to provide a therapeutic environment to address behaviours associated with drug and alcohol use. This grant opportunity will ensure critical interventions are accessible to the individuals requiring drug and alcohol treatment and support.
The objectives of the grant opportunity are to:
- support drug and alcohol treatment services to deliver evidence-based and best practice treatment modalities for drug and alcohol use
- assist individuals to reduce/cease drug and alcohol use through withdrawal management and/or rehabilitation treatment services (residential and non-residential)
- deliver activities that strengthen the capacity of the drug and alcohol treatment sector to address the needs of individuals, families, carers and communities affected by drug and alcohol use.
This grant opportunity provides an additional year of project funding, as well as funding under the Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services Maintenance Measure, and re-commencement of indexation to support the continuation of the treatment activities and workforce support in 2021-22 and 2022-23.
