Climate-Smart Agriculture Program Capacity Building Grants Round 1

The Australian Government is inviting organisations via an Open competitive process to apply to deliver projects under the Climate-Smart Agriculture Program – Capacity Building Grants Round 1.
Objectives:
The Capacity Building grants will contribute to the Climate-Smart Agriculture Program’s outcomes by supporting farmers to increase their awareness, knowledge and skills of best practice climate-smart sustainable agriculture approaches. It will also increase the capacity and capability of community, Landcare groups, First Nations groups and organisations, and industry partnerships to assist farmers to adopt climate-smart and sustainable agriculture practices.
Intended outcomes:
- Outcome 1: farmers and land holders have increased awareness, knowledge and skills of best practice climate-smart sustainable agriculture approaches.
- Outcome 2: community, Landcare groups, First Nations peoples and industry have increased capacity and capability to assist farmers and land holders to adopt climate-smart and sustainable agriculture practices.
- Outcome 3: the agriculture sector is utilising proven climate-smart and sustainable agriculture practices, initiatives and information sources to increase adoption at scale.
To be eligible you must:
- have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
- be a permanent resident of Australia
- have an account with an Australian financial institution
- be financially viable
- be located in Australia.
Also, you must be one of the following entity types:
- Company
- Cooperative
- Corporate Commonwealth Entity
- Corporate State or Territory Entity
- Incorporated Association
- Indigenous Corporation
- Local Government Entity
- Non-corporate State or Territory Entity
- Non-corporate State or Territory Statutory Authority
- Partnership
- Person
- Sole Trader
- Statutory Entity.
If you are applying as a Trustee on behalf of a Trust , the Trustee must have an eligible entity type as listed above.
Assessment of applications - Within 8 weeks from the closing date
Approval of outcomes of selection process - Within 12 weeks from the closing date
Notification to applicants - Within 14 weeks from the closing date
Negotiations and award of grant agreements - Within 20 weeks from the closing date
Earliest start date of grant activity - September 2024
End date of grant activity - 31 March 2028

- provide all the information requested
- address all eligibility criteria and assessment criteria
- include all necessary attachments
- submit your application/s to the Community Grants Hub by 9:00 pm AEDT on 28 March 2024.
