Description:

This is a grant opportunity to identify and engage four Brokerage Organisations (one per region) who will partner with community stakeholders in their region to develop a Community Design Plan of alcohol and other drug (AOD) treatment service-related activities in response to local needs.

The Brokerage Organisations will then facilitate a grant opportunity for local organisations to apply for funds to implement the projects within the Plans. The Brokerage Model approach will ensure that grants are administered by an organisation who knows the issues on the ground and can work closely with community organisations on the priorities of their region.

Funding of up to $49.256 million (GST exclusive) will be distributed fairly evenly across the four regions. A portion of these funds of up to $1.2 million (GST exclusive) will go directly to each of the Brokerage Organisations to support their role in administering the funding and managing the AOD treatment service-related projects. The funding will be delivered over an initial period of three years, with the option to extend for a further one year at the discretion of the Commonwealth.
