Purpose:
This project will replace the existing stormwater concrete channel with a naturalised riparian ecosystem between between FE Walker Street and Hargreaves Street. This will limit the impacts of climate change, reduce impacts from land-based activities and, protect rehabilitate and restore the Reef habitat by improving the stormwater quality entering Burnett River, which in turn outflows directly into the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.
