Purpose:
The scope of this project is to upgrade the off grid power supply system to meet the requirements of airport operations and the support to the Telstra communications facility to ensure availability and operability at all times. The increased use of Hotham Airport during the 2019/20 Bushfires highlighted a deficiency in the current uninterruptable power supply system that supports the airport and Telstra repeater. This deficiency resulted in the need for staff to come to site to manually reset the system on multiple occasions during the fire season, and had the potential to cause the airport to be shut and Telstra communications to be significantly impacted.
