Purpose:
La Valette Social Centre is planning to install solar panel systems at its community centre building and chapel. Both have separate NMIs and meters, and have their own energy needs. In total, electricity usage currently equates to 140-190kWh per day. The two installations will include a 40kW solar system for the community centre and a 10kW solar system for the chapel. Both include provisioning for future battery storage systems.
Project outcomes will include:
- Offset of all electricity usage and associated greenhouse gas emissions through consumption and grid feed-in or excess solar energy production
- Cost reductions of approximately $13,500/year
- Reinvestment of savings into La Valette services and activities
La Valette Social Centre is planning to install solar panel systems at its St Francis Chapel and its main community centre building. Both have separate NMIs and meters, and have their own energy needs. Total electricity usage currently equates to 140-190kWh per day.
The two systems are planned to include:
- Centre: 39-40kW solar system
- Chapel: 10-11kW Solar system
Both include provisioning for future battery storage systems
Project outcomes are:

- Cost reductions of $13,500/year

PROJECT KEY ACTIVITIES
The La Valette Committee has already received quotes for systems and installation. If successful, the following stages will be undertaken:
- La Valette Committee to make final decision between installation quotes received
- Final site inspections and installation plan to be undertaken by chosen .
- La Valette Committee to renegotiate or change energy plans to include Feed-in Tariff and best rates and charges
- Installation of solar systems.
- Final payment of any balance due
