Grant Activity:
A tiered approach to the diagnosis of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder in remote Indigenous primary care settings
Purpose:
Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder is often undetected resulting in inadequate services for children and high social and economic costs. Currently, time-intensive assessments are done by specialists who have long waitlists. Our aim is to tackle this challenge by testing a less time-intensive and culturally-sensitive assessment that general practitioners can use in remote Indigenous communities. The outcome will be quality, local services, improved health care and cost savings for families.
