Purpose:
During the Black Summer Bushfires the Moruya Showground's kitchen, located in the pavilion building, was not big enough and there were safety concerns with the kitchen layout.
There was no place to wash up, just one small house-style sink and no preparation area to wash and prepare food products. The objective of this project is to enlarge the kitchen, add a dedicated wash-up area with the dishwasher, add a food preparation area with dedicated sinks, add stainless steel benches, and move doors to overcome the safety concerns.
The completion of this project will be the first step in becoming a commercial-style kitchen, which will help all users of the Moruya Showground and when the facility is operated as an Emergency Evacuation Centre.
