Switchboard Upgrade to Facilitate Installation of Solar PV Equipment
Purpose:
The Society is installing Solar Photo Voltaic system on it's Corporate offices in Yarralumla and its Retail Centres at Tuggeranong, Belconnen and Narrabundah. To facilitate this work, upgrades are needed to the electricity boards at Tuggeranong and Narrabundah, to bring them up to the level of compliance required to certify the solar installations, and to ensure there is sufficient space on the boards to install upgraded electricity meters, which can measure power flowing into the grid as well as out of the grid.
Activities:
- Upgrade of existing switchboards at Narrabundah and Tuggeranong, Belconnen to facilitate installation of solar PV generation equipment.
- Installation of solar PV systems at Narrabundah (6.6kW), Tuggeranong (20kW),
Yarralumla (29kW) and Belconnen (10kW) (separately funded).
Outcomes:
- Facilitates generation of solar PV generated power at the 4 locations.
- Improved energy efficiency through use of solar power
- Reduced carbon footprint through reduced usage of fossil fuel energy sources
- Contributing project to achieving a carbon neutral corporate footprint (Vinnies C/G is working towards Climate Active accreditation of a zero carbon footprint)
Please note that the project plan attached herewith relates to our entire solar rollout project which includes locations in NSW. The funding through this application is for the Narrabundah portion of the project only.
Please note that, due to COVID lockdowns, it has not been possible to obtain a quote for the specific sites to which this application relates. I have included as a functional example, a quote for a site previously identified and upgraded. Copies of quotes and invoices for the sites in question will be provided in the event that the application is successful.
