The NSSQ provides financial support to accredited tertiary education institution(s) (suppliers) to design and implement a structured academic pathway to provide post-graduate students a nuclear safeguards qualification.
Purpose:

The purpose of this initiative is to foster interest in and develop expertise about nuclear safeguards to ensure Australia has the requisite expertise for the Commonwealth to draw upon in the future. The funding will support the standing up of a specialised pathway for post-graduate students who are interested in nuclear topics including science, law, technology, regulation, and national and international security. The objective of the NSSQ is to uplift national capacity and capability in nuclear safeguards expertise.
