Grant Program:
2023 Priority-driven Collaborative Cancer Research scheme
Grant Activity:
Tackling breast cancer growth and metastasis by suppressing ROCK-regulated paracrine signalling
Purpose:
The spread of breast cancer to other parts of the body (metastasis) is the most common cause of cancer-related death in women. Metastasis is helped by changes in the environment that surrounds and supports the breast cancer. Certain chemicals are released from cancers as they grow, which act on normal cells in the environment to cause these changes. This project will determine if these chemicals can be blocked as a new way of stopping breast cancer metastasis.
