Purpose:
The project will utilise Victorian brown coal (lignite) as the fuel source with natural gas used for start-up and to control plant ramping and turndown. The main product output will be, depending on the operating case, either hydrogen or ammonia, as well as electricity. The proposed grant funding is sought for the pre-FEED, which will build on the results of the recent feasibility study. The scope of the pre-FEED study is based on the pre-FEED scoping and planning carried out as part of the feasibility study, but also includes other associated (non-technical) workstreams, to allow project confidence to build across all aspects.
