Grant Program:
2022 Priority-driven Collaborative Cancer Research Scheme (PdCCRS)
Grant Activity:
The role of lipids in the immune fitness of malignant B cells, intratumoral T cells and CAR-T cells in follicular lymphoma
Purpose:
Although many patients with follicular lymphoma (FL) are responsive to chemotherapy, the inability of the anti-tumour immune response to remove cancer cells can lead to treatment resistance. It remains unclear what drives this inadequate anti-tumour immune response. Altered metabolism of fuel sources (i.e. sugars, fats) are common features of cancer. The proposed study explores how by-products of altered metabolism impairs the immune response and allows early treatment failure in FL.
