Purpose:
This project aims to fill identified knowledge gaps in the distribution, abundance, health and diet of koala populations within the Sunshine Coast Council (SCC) region so that local recovery efforts can be strategically targeted to efficiently achieve maximum on-ground impact. The project will also extend koala landscape and genetic connectivity by adding to an existing koala restoration project on Council managed reserve and work towards landscape connectivity through engagement with private landholders and traditional owners at a workshop and a separate koala planting day on covenant-protected private land.
