Grant Activity:
Targeting molecular ageing pathways for the treatment of chronic pain
Purpose:
One in five Australians lives with chronic pain and this prevalence rises to one in three people over the age of 65. Available treatments for pain are often ineffective and associated with dose-limiting side effects. This project aims to explore a potential new avenue of pain research, and the knowledge gained is expected to provide a breakthrough understanding of the interplay between chronic pain and cellular ageing, and nonetheless will lay the groundwork for numerous applications.
