Grant Activity:
Overcoming inequity of opportunity for optimal pain and symptom management for Australians affected by pancreatic cancer
Purpose:
Patients with cancer have better quality of life and health outcomes when a specialist nurse in involved in their care. In Australia, there is considerable variation in access to specialist cancer nurses, especially for regional and rural patients and those diagnosed with less common cancers. Our randomised clinical trial will test a centrally-based, and consumer-informed model of nurse-led telehealth care to improve patient outcomes (pain and other symptoms) for patients with pancreatic cancer.
