A multi-modality med-tech approach to dietary therapy for epilepsy care (MED-TEC): A randomised controlled trial
Purpose:
One-third of people with epilepsy continue to experience seizures despite treatment with medication. Dietary therapy is an effective treatment option, however, following a diet long-term is challenging. To address this, we propose a clinical trial using medical technologies to assist people with their dietary treatment and reduces seizures. This includes electronic food and seizure diaries, additional dietitian support via telehealth and a new device to test saliva ketone levels at home.
