MedTech Actuator and Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry - an Australia-Japan collaboration - will build networks and combine strengths in healthcare, medical and sports research, academia and leading corporations to catalyse Japan’s next-generation of entrepreneurs with high potential science, medical and health technology innovations. Studies around the world consistently link entrepreneurship and innovation with rapid technology translation, job creation, economic growth and long-term productivity increases, however, we have yet to fully unleash the full potential of science, medical and health innovation in addressing both economic transition and healthcare transformation. Through intensive education, mentoring and training with leading experts in Australia, promoting Australia’s capabilities, ‘MTAC Origin Japan’ will support clinicians, researchers, students and garage entrepreneurs in Japan with commercialisation. The project will also enable cross-collaboration between entrepreneurs from Japan and Australia, sharing knowledge, skills and culture. We seek to enhance bilateral collaboration to support science, medical and health technology innovations.
