Purpose:
The objective of this project is to develop a portable electrochemical biosensor device capable of simultaneous detection of multiple pathogens, even at very low level of concentrations. This device will be a great asset for point of need detection of pathogenic contamination in food and monitor their safety and quality, particularly advantageous in natural disasters or an outbreak for food safety monitoring. In addition to food and water, the successful development of this versatile biosensor device will benefit a wide spectrum of companies such as pharmaceuticals, medical device manufacturing and farms for controlling product quality where detection of life-threatening pathogens is pivotal to prevent risk for consumers.
