Grant Activity:
Mitochondrial metabolism and its role in the maternal epigenome
Purpose:
Mitochondria are important organelles that play roles in ATP generation, metabolism cell death. Recent evidence suggests that mitochondria can also cause long lasting effects on gene expression. We will investigate this possibility in oocytes by manipulating mitochondrial function and examining the impact on subsequent embryo development.
