Targeted Calls for Research
Description:

A Targeted Call for Research (TCR) is a one-time request for grant applications designed to stimulate research in a particular area that will benefit the health of Australians or address a specific health issue.

NHMRC is considering opening a grant opportunity that aims to address the needs of people with high healthcare service utilisation. There is lack of research on the experience, needs and health care journey of people with high healthcare service utilisation from a consumer perspective and the key factors that lead to frequent use of health services.

The proposed opportunity will facilitate research that will improve understanding of the patient journey, where the critical issues are for people to access timely and appropriate care in diverse geographic locations and in different sectors of the healthcare services. It also aims to support research that examines current healthcare delivery approaches/models of care, explore potential improvements and/or development of new models and/or ways to better implement them, particularly for people with complex health needs.
