National Intelligence Postdoctoral Grants
The National Intelligence Postdoctoral Grant (NIPG) program sponsors unclassified academic research and innovation in national intelligence.
The NIPG funds postdoctoral early/mid-career researchers to undertake academic research in relation to specific Research Problems of interest to the National Intelligence Community (NIC). Funding ($365,000 GST Exclusive) is for two years full time or up to four years part time (subject to approval). Postdoctoral researchers are required to partner with a research advisor for the duration of the grant.
To be eligible the post-doctoral candidate must:
- Be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or New Zealand Special Category Visa Holder.
- Have a PhD in a relevant field, conferred before the beginning of the postdoctoral position and within ten years of the application closing date (career interruptions considered).
- Be sponsored by an accredited Australian University.
To be eligible the research advisor must:
- Be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or New Zealand Special Category Visa Holder.
- Be engaged as a full-time staff member of the sponsoring accredited Australian University.
