The Australian Government is subsidising 1,000 new jobs for Community Development Program participants in remote Australia to support economic development. 

Tranche One of the 1,000 Jobs Package grant funding round will provide an initial opportunity for up to 200 new jobs to be created.  

Tranche One will remain open from 1 September 2019 to 30 December 2019 or until 200 positions are fully allocated.  

Positions will be: 

• Subsidised up to the minimum wage of $19.49 (based on the 2019-2020 minimum wage).

• Subsidised up to 38 hours per week for up to 46 weeks per year, with the subsidy tapering in the second year to 50 per cent with additional retention bonuses.  

Positions must be: 

• New and ongoing 

• Full-time or Part-time

• At least 15 hours per week on average

All applicants much meet all eligibility criteria outlined under section 4.1 in the 1000 Jobs Package Tranche One Grant Opportunity Guidelines. These guidelines are attached in the Grant Opportunity documents.

Grant Applicants are encouraged to read the Information Sheet attached and refer to the CDP Region Map, prior to submitting an online application. 

Prior to submitting an application for funding, eligible applicants need to consult with the NIAA Regional Network and local CDP providers on the details of their application. 

Please note that the end date for Tranche One of the 1000 Jobs Package has been extended until 11:30 PM on 30 December 2019.  There has also been an increase in the total number of subsidies available through Tranche One, increasing from 100 to 200. 

Applications will close prior to the specified close date if these subsidised positions are allocated. If this occurs, applicants registered on Grant Connect for 1000 Jobs Package will be notified by email. Any unallocated subsidised from Tranche One at 30 December 2019 will be rolled over to Tranche Two of the 1000 Jobs Package.
