GO3613 - Fighting Cancer - Regional Cancer Treatment Centres for Radiation Therapy
The Fighting Cancer - Regional Cancer Treatment Centres for Radiation Therapy Program (the program) will run over five years from 2020-21 to 2024-25. This program was announced as part of the 2019-20 Budget the Fighting Cancer – additional infrastructure and services measure and is intended to provide funding of $45.5 million to expand cancer treatment capacity throughout regional Australia by enhancing existing and investing in new health infrastructure. Cancer patients in rural and regional areas can experience difficulties in accessing treatment close to home. Investment in regional radiation therapy services means that patients can access a range of services in one place.
