Description:

The Australian Government has committed $6.139 million GST exclusive (across FY2019–20 to FY2021–22) to support primary prevention activities. This is funded under the Fourth Action Plan of the National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children 2010-2022.

Organisations are invited to apply for funding to develop and deliver innovative and community-led primary prevention activities that challenge violence-supportive attitudes and behaviours. A community-led approach ensures the people, groups and communities impacted by a project are actively involved in the development, implementation and evaluation of the project.

The department is seeking applications from specialist organisations, or consortium partnerships, to develop and deliver primary prevention projects across Australia. The lead applicant must be a specialist organisation with expertise in family, domestic or sexual violence, primary prevention or gender equality.

Preference will be given to applications that demonstrate existing strong relationships with their target groups or communities, or partnerships with organisations representing those groups or communities.

Priority cohorts for this grant opportunity include:

  •  Children and young people
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities

  • Women with disabilities

  • Women living in rural and remote communities

  • Culturally and linguistically diverse communities
